‘True Blood’ Star Anna Paquin on Stephen Moyer, Nude Scenes and Dating Vampires

Sexier, tougher, naked-er. That just about sums up the second season of HBO’s vampire drama ‘True Blood.’ (Yeah, this definitely isn’t ‘Twilight.’) Star Anna Paquin loves that “anything is possible” on her show — even if it involves a lot of nudity.

She talks to AOL TV about filming steamy sex scenes with her on- and off-screen boyfriend Stephen Moyer, that other vampire franchise and whether she’ll return to the ‘X-Men’ movies. — By Kelly Woo

Creator Alan Ball told us this season would be sexier. How sexy can it get?
Other things happen in the plot, you know what I mean? It’s not as much as people may think … There’s actual plot. But yes, it’s a sexy vampire show and yes, there’s more getting it on, so to speak.

How do you feel about filming all those nude scenes?
I feel fine. Although the way that people ask me about it all the time, I feel like maybe I should feel uptight about it. But I really don’t [laughs].
You never pipe up and say, “Wow, this is a lot of me being naked”?
I wouldn’t do it if it was too much. Everyone’s very respectful of the boundaries of whichever actor is doing stuff like that on set. So it’s not cameras being thrown anywhere and anything can happen, you know? It’s quite choreographed. Continue Reading »

True Blood Stud: Why I Always Take My Clothes Off

Ryan Kwanten can’t seem to keep his shirt on.

At least when he’s playing Jason Stackhouse on HBO’s True Blood.

“The moment Jason gets a little heated, whether it be the sexual realm or the competitive realm,” Kwanten tells me, “the clothes start to come off.”

Like during a scene in the second season (premiering Sunday) in which Jason and new frenemy Luke (Wes Brown) compete in a game of flag football at a camp run by antivampire sect Fellowship of the Sun…

“Jason was pushed,” Kwanten explains “Luke tackled him a little too hard, so he thought he’d go Rambo-style and deal with the business at hand.” Continue Reading »

Evan Rachel Wood Talks ‘True Blood’

While out promoting “Whatever Works,” Evan was asked about her role as Sophie-Ann, a 500-year-old vampire queen, and couldn’t contain her excitement either! “I can’t wait to get fitted for the fangs! I’ll probably steal [them] when I’m done.” Oh man, Shane West is gonna be covered in bite marks from head to toe.[Source]

Anna Paquin: True Blood and Twilight Not the Same

Sure, Twilight and True Blood are vampire stories that include romance, violence and the constant struggle between good and evil.

Even so, they’re very different.

“They’re completely different age groups that they’re trying to appeal to,” says Oscar winner Anna Paquin, who stars in HBO’s True Blood as mind-reading Sookie Stackhouse. “It wouldn’t be appropriate for teenagers to be watching our show. I wouldn’t have been allowed to.”

All ya gotta do is check out the sex scenes Paquin, 26, has with Stephen Moyer, 39, her real-life boyfriend who play’s Sookie’s vampire beau, Bill Compton…

Paquin, who won a Golden Globe for her work as Sookie, promises we’ll be seeing even more this time around.

“I get more naked this season than I did last season,” she says, adding later, “We have a really great crew and everyone’s really respectful. It’s not an issue for me.” Continue Reading »

Novelist behind HBO’s ‘True Blood’ planning guest appearance

Though season two of HBO’s “True Blood” will further diverge from the Charlaine Harris series of books that inspired it, the author herself will be making a guest appearance in the season finale.

Series creator Alan Ball told reporters Wednesday that though he and Harris don’t talk much about the direction of the show, they keep in touch.

“She actually is going to come out and do a cameo probably in the last episode of the season,” said Ball. “But I do think it’s best to just respect that boundary. Maybe I’m just being chicken because I don’t want to hear that she hates this or she hates that.”

“True Blood,” returning June 14 at 9 p.m., stars Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress in the small Southern town of Bon Temps, La., where vampires and humans are trying to co-exist. It also features Stephen Moyer as Sookie’s undead love interest, Bill Compton.

Vampires are a hot commodity in pop culture right now, thanks to the “Twilight” phenomenon, the CW’s recent addition of “Vampire Diaries” to its fall season and “True Blood.” And though Ball isn’t a “Twilight” fan, he doesn’t see a problem with a crowded market.

“I can’t really talk that much about ‘Twilight’ because I haven’t read any of the books or seen the movie, but I personally don’t really understand why you would have vampires in something that’s basically about abstinence,” said Ball. Continue Reading »
